A NEW FEATURE ON SHOP SMART AND SAVE

You all know about my love of coupons, but I do have other things in my life that take a piece of my heart and cooking is one of them. I like to think of myself as a copycat cook. I am not very creative when it comes to thinking up my own recipes so I look for them elsewhere. I love to watch the Food Network, read food magazines and blog hop recipe blogs.

I was the pickiest eater as a child. I can remember my older brother referring to my taste buds as retarded at one point in my life. I would not eat leftovers of any kind, preferred my tacos with meat and cheese only and passed on most every vegetable set before me.

Then one day my mom was eating her famous "tomato sandwich on toast" which she only made when she had tomatoes growing in her backyard. I can remember seeing the tomato juices dripping from her sandwich and my mouth watered for a taste. I asked my mom for a bit and my view of food was changed forever. Tomato sandwiches are still one of my favorite foods to eat. Me and my mom wait all year for the first ripe tomato so we can pull out the Grandma Sycamore bread and indulge our senses.

My husband says that I am too adventure with some of the foods I try. However, he also wishes that he would have ordered my dish at the restaurant most of the time. According to him I never order a bad meal.

With this love and passion I have for food, I have tried many different and fantastic recipes that I want to pass along to you. So every Friday I am going to host a RECIPE EXCHANGE where I will share a favorite recipe and the tools I use to make them.

So be sure to check in tomorrow for the first installment of Lisa's Recipe Exchange.
